Congratulations to all who ran and to our local candidates who did not break Republican hold on County offices. They made great campaigns and showed that Rockingham County has a real 2-party system after all.

Fall 2007: Spring 2007:
Barack Obama, Sharon Nichols
Sen. Barack Obama & Sharon Nichols,

Don't forget - the 2009 Portsmouth Municipal elections are coming.
Why not run?

City Council, School Board, Fire and Police Commissions will all have openings.
The races are non-partisan and nominees can file petitions or pay small fees to get on the ballot.

There are also party races for Ward Moderators, Ward Clerks and Selectmen and Registrars.
Nominees are chosen at party caucuses.

Look for more details in the coming months.

And then there is always 2010 which brings us back to all the NH races.
