Although our website is relatively new, we believe that it is already a useful information tool for everyone on the NH Seacoast who would like to stay informed regarding the activities of local Democrats and our organization.    We also hope to provide notice of upcoming events and information related to other organizations which could be of interest to local Democrats.    Thanks to the hard work of our webmaster, Robert Padian, and the input and support of the Executive Committee members, we are confident that the information available on our website will be useful to many of you. Whether you are searching for the date or location of an upcoming event (e.g. the next Portsmouth Democratic Roundtable, or next Portsmouth Demcratic meeting), the name of one of our officers, or a link to another Democratic website, we shall try to be helpful and user friendly.

While the Portsmouth Democrats are the official city committee for the NH Democratic Party, we are dependent on local Democrats for our activities, funding and ideas. That is why I encourage you to get involved with us, making use of any unique talents.    Our fair city needs advocates to keep it interesting both culturally and politically, as well as to be watchful of developments that could damage the city's health and vitality.    The Portsmouth Democrats, with your help, hope to be such advocates.

President-elect Barack Obama has said quite often, that only if Americans rally around change, can he hope to be successful. The next 4 years (maybe 8) could prove to be historic, by creating a New America that finally deals with many of our long-neglected challenges, both domestic and international.    The next President will be calling on all Americans both to sacrifice and to play a part in that process.

What better place for us to start than right here in Portsmouth.
